After the Race

After the race we have a day in Namche Bazaar before flying back to Kathmandu for the prize giving. Please click on a photo to see a larger image

The day after the race the groups get together with the sherpas who have been looking after them. This will be the last time we have an opportunity to thank them ...... and to tip them for all of their hard work.A helicopter arrives to shuttle us back to Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu.
The helicopter may not be the most modern ...... and we are all packed in ...... but it does mean we are back in Kathmandu by lunchtime ...... enjoying the luxuries it has to offer ...
... and the shock of being back in the "real" world! The final night in Kathmandu is the prize giving ceremony, where all competitors, doctors and marshals are awarded their certificates. The Prize Giving. The Prize Giving.
The Prize Giving. The Prize Giving. The race organiser says her final goodbye. Now it is all over until the next race in 2009.
